Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tabled a vote of confidence motion in the Assembly, following his recent allegations that the BJP attempted to poach AAP MLAs to topple his government. Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has admitted the motion, which will be discussed in the Assembly starting at 11 am on Saturday.

This development comes just before Kejriwal is scheduled to appear in a Delhi court regarding the skipping of ED summons in the excise policy case. Last month, Kejriwal had claimed that there was a BJP conspiracy to arrest him in the liquor policy case and that the BJP was trying to lure AAP MLAs with up to Rs 25 crore in cash to switch sides.

In response, the BJP has demanded proof of these allegations, stating that they are politically motivated due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity. The BJP delegation has also called for an investigation into the matter and threatened legal action against Kejriwal, AAP minister Atishi, and MLAs Durgesh Pathak and Dilip Pandey, whom Kejriwal accused of being contacted by the BJP.

The confidence motion tabled by Kejriwal is expected to be a crucial moment for his government, as it faces challenges from the opposition BJP amidst ongoing political tensions.
